This is the third part of a series of EMERGENCY PODCAST SYSTEM Rumble episodes on Trump's war on Portland. In this episode, we will hear from a longtime Black Lives Matter activist and the founder of "Don't Shoot Portland," Teressa Raiford. Long before the recent uprising, Teressa has been at the forefront of the resistance against state power and fighting for the liberation of Black Americans. She joins Michael to discuss how the unsolved shooting of her nephew sparked her activism, why auditing the police and other government agencies is so important, and the underlying, systemic racism that is at the heart of why we must resist. Ep. 101: EMERGENCY PODCAST SYSTEM — Donald Trump's Police State, Part 1 | Rumble w Michael Moore

What happens when a neo-fascist President and his thuggish Attorney General send armed federal agents and combat troops to one of the most progressive, politically active and creative American cities? We're watching it take place in Portland, Oregon: citizens using leaf blowers to successfully redirect tear gas back at the Feds; a Wall of Moms "dressed like they're going to Target" and wearing bike helmets, putting their bodies on the line to protect the protestors; a "Naked Athena" sitting nude in the middle of the street, doing a yoga pose in a show of power and defiance against confused, scared, armed federal gunmen. In the middle of it all have been courageous journalists, some of them teenagers, documenting this story for the rest of us and giving us a preview of what is coming to the rest of our cities. One of them, 17-year old Garrison Davis, joins Michael to discuss what the last 50+ days of resistance have been like, the night he first saw an unmarked federal van snatching a citizen off the street, and how Portland is a dry run for what Trump and Barr are planning on doing all around the country in advance of the election. This is the first part of a series of EMERGENCY PODCAST SYSTEM episodes on Portland. We will also be hearing from Bev Barnum, founder of Portland's "Wall of Moms," Teressa Raiford, a longtime Black Lives Matter activist who founded "Don't Shoot Portland," and historian Timothy Snyder, who appeared in Fahrenheit 11/9 and has been warning us about the creeping fascism during the Trump regime. Ep. 100: Meet My Cousin, The President | Rumble w Michael Moore podcast

During an episode of “Finding Your Roots” on PBS with Henry Louis Gates Jr., a search through Michael’s family history unearthed a shocking revelation: Michael Moore is related to America’s 31st President, 1929-1933, Republican Herbert Hoover. After grappling with the fact (and the irony) that the Franklin Delano Roosevelt-loving, Democratic party-supporting Moore family was actually related to FDR’s Republican predecessor, Michael decided to search deeper into his roots during a trip earlier this year to Hoover’s home state of Iowa. This episode was recorded at the Herbert Hoover Presidential Library, Museum and birthplace in West Branch, Iowa. After touring the museum, Michael sat down with three archivists, Craig Wright, Elizabeth Dinschel and Lynn Smith, to learn more about Hoover and the Great Depression, Hoover’s ill-fated presidency, and his Quaker roots. Michael struggles over whether he wants to go public about his connection with Hoover, but then realizes there may be some perks if a President was your cousin. Michael asks if he can crash on the Hoover couch for the night, seeing how, you know, he’s family. ****************** WATCH: Michael Moore on "Finding Your Roots With Henry Louis Gates Jr." on PBS Klik hier offer for Rumble listeners from NetSuite! Dr. Irwin Redlener is a nationally-renowned pediatrician, scholar, longtime advocate for children's health and a top expert on disaster preparedness who directs the Pandemic Resource and Response Initiative at Columbia University’s Earth Institute. He has been serving the American public blunt truths about the coronavirus pandemic from the very beginning, and he shares some frightening new assessments about where we might soon land: One million new cases EVERY DAY — and 800,000 to 1.5 million of us DEAD by November if we don't get our act together yesterday. He and Michael have an animated discussion about how Trump's America screwed up the response to Covid-19, how Joe Biden could actually just start leading the real pandemic response we need NOW (and from his basement!) which would save tens of thousands of lives, and finally Dr. Redlener gets Michael to promise to personally call Vice President Biden and tell him what he just told his podcast audience. Michael Moore: Rep. Ilhan Omar Reflects on the Death of Her Father Due To Complications with COVID-1

On the "Rumble with Michael Moore" podcast, Rep. Ilhan Omar reflected on the death of her father due to complications with COVID-19. Rep. Ilhan Omar: "Thank you for your condolences. It's been a challenge coming to terms with the fact that he's taken from us. You know, my father was a fighter. For me, it just sort of puts an exclamation point on just how dangerous this virus is and how many people's lives are being stolen by it and how seriously we need to take it in not just urging people to wear masks, but testing and tracing." "My father was an avid mask wearer. And, you know, he was quite frustrated at times when he would briefly step out, that he would encounter people without a mask. And it's a reminder that we don't wear the mask for ourselves.  We wear it for the protection of others, as well. And so when others wear it, they're protecting us. And so it's a reciprocal thing that we do as a community to keep each other safe. And I just know that the people he came into contact with, if they were wearing a mask, that his life would have been saved and he would have still been here with us. And so I just hope that people take that seriously."  "And our leaders continue to urge people to take it seriously and wear masks themselves, as well." Michael Moore: "Well, I'm really, really sorry that this happened to him, to you, to your family. From what I know of you and, of course, we've met and spoken, your mother I believe died when you were very young." Rep. Ilhan Omar: "He was mostly my mother and father. And so this is a real loss. Very hard." *********** This podcast was published on July 3, 2020. To listen to the full episode, go to: Apple: Klik hier Klik hier Klik hier

Michael Moore: Rep. Ilhan Omar on Minneapolis PD: "Really Important For Us To Gut It, Figure Out How

On the Rumble with Michael Moore podcast, Congresswoman Ilhan Omar and Michael Moore discussed the police murder of George Floyd in Minneapolis and the uprisings around the nation that his death have sparked. Rep. Omar, who represents Minneapolis, told Michael Moore that minor reforms would not be sufficient and that it is necessary to "gut" the Minneapolis PD and rebuild. Rep. Omar said: "Reforms in the way in which we used to think about them are no longer going to save lives in our city. And they are not going to save our communities and they are not going to save our nation. And so there are many municipalities around the country that have police departments that need a little push in order to do better. But the Minneapolis Police Department, in my belief, isn't one of those. And so it is going to be really important for us to gut it and figure out how to rebuild a new policy and standard that will keep all of us safe and will attend to the needs of the community." Rep. Omar added: "When you have systems that are entrenched in systematic oppression and injustice, reforms around the edge that barely scratched the surface are not going to create the kind of positive outcome that you ultimately want in keeping everyone safe and wanting people to have full liberation and access to their constitution and the mandated right to life and liberty. And so Minneapolis is one of those rare cities that has a duty to intervene as a policy for their police officers." The "Rumble with Michael Moore" podcast was published on Friday, July 3rd, 2020. Ep. 93: Juneteenth (w Rep. Barbara Lee, D-CA, The granddaughter of a slave) | Rumble w Michael Moore

Two and a half years after President Abraham Lincoln's Emancipation Proclamation was supposed to have freed the slaves, news of the war ending — and that Lincoln had freed the slaves back in 1863 — finally made it to Galveston, Texas, on June 19th, 1965. So Texas, against its will, finally re-joined the rest of the Union, all slaves were freed and Juneteenth is now the holiday truly commemorating the freeing of all the slaves in America. Congresswoman Barbara Lee's grandfather was born a slave in Galveston post-Emancipation Proclamation, but weeks before Juneteenth, making this commemoration especially meaningful to Rep. Lee and her family. On this 155th commemoration of Juneteenth, Rep. Lee joins Michael to discuss the never-ending struggle for freedom for Black Americans and her courageous, lone vote against a never-ending war, 3 days after 9/11. ************ Read More About Rep. Dating back to 1865, it was on June 19th that the Union soldiers, led by Major General Gordon Granger, landed at Galveston, Texas with news that the war had ended and that the enslaved were now free. The Emancipation Proclamation of 1863 had had little impact on the Texans due to the minimal number of Union troops to enforce the new Executive Order. However, with the surrender of General Lee in April of 1865, and the arrival of General Granger’s regiment, the forces were finally strong enough to influence and overcome the resistance of the white racist slave owners and the poor white population willing to die for those rich racist bastards.
